CELEBRATE LIFE BANQUET- “The Legacy of Love” Banquet, this year’s gala fundraising event, was a night filled with love, laughter, music and as always, some tears. It was well-attended with over 600 friends, families, supporters and many whose lives have been touched by the Women’s Care Center since the founding thirty-five years ago. The unique call on this ministry is bitter sweet to come along side people in the midst of their very personal life crises. This year’s client stories told of a years ago teenager’s adoption plan and reunion with her now grown son; a client who bravely gave birth to her child after a traumatic sexual assault; and the heartwarming client affirmation of our Stepping Stones/Learn to Earn program for pregnant and parenting moms and dads. Local Artist and Worship Leader Brandon Fox added beautifully performed music to set the tone for the evening. We are so grateful to our very generous partners who stand with us financially so that we are able provide all that we do to those in need.

BABY & ME TOBACCO FREE - Smoking during pregnancy increases the possibility of premature and underweight births. The Women’s Care Center is now providing smoking cessation programs to expectant moms at our Peach Street, Downtown Erie, and Union City offices. This program, in partnership with the Erie County Department of Health, was made possible through a United Way of Erie County and the Erie Community Foundation’s, Women’s Fund grant. Erie is the first city in PA to offer this effective program with great incentives to our clients! Call 814-836-7505 for info about enrolling.
STEPPING STONES – LEARN TO EARN - This program continues to grow in popularity and effect! Young moms and dads enjoy watching the high quality, interesting and instructional videos.
